About Us

Welcome to Living90045.com! Living90045.com is brought to you by one family living and thriving in Westchester, CA. Tracy is a non-practicing attorney and active web entrepreneur. Doug is a civil engineer specializing in light rail transit projects and is also a green living enthusiast. Zoe is our six year old daughter and resident authority on pink, fairy princesses and social justice.

We moved to Westchester almost six years ago, just before Zoe came home from the hospital. It was a near perfect storm of life events. Tracy & Doug had only been married a short time, Tracy was changing careers and we had a baby on the way — all while living in a one-bedroom highrise apartment with five cats in the marina! We knew we needed to make a change and we needed to make it fast.

Enter realtor Diana Hobson, a long-time friend and business networking colleague of Tracy’s. We knew very little about Westchester (despite living next door in Marina del Rey for quite some time), but Diana knew what a great value Westchester real estate represents for young families. We knew we wanted to live on the west side of LA and that we wanted good freeway access. Westchester offered both.

We were also house hunting in Mar Vista, but quickly found that while 3 bedroom, 2 bath homes were similarly priced, Mar Vista homes were much smaller. We knew a good real estate value when we saw it, and we wasted no time zeroing in on a Westchester house for sale. Great guidance and advice from our excellent Westchester real estate agent helped. She also knew the other local agents and which ones could be trusted to “play nice.” Real estate agents who play nice are important when you have a baby on the way and not a lot of time to waste. Ultimately one of the agents on the other side of our deal didn’t play as nice as he should have, but Diana did a fabulous job getting him whipped into shape.

It didn’t take us long to figure out we made a great choice when we picked Westchester. We love its proximity to beaches and to Marina del Rey (one of Tracy’s favorite places in the whole world). Westchester represents an excellent real estate value for LA’s west side of town and offers a strong range of housing options. You can’t argue with Westchester’s great freeway access, offering the 90, 405 and 105 freeways all very close by, and we absolutely love that the neighborhood is family-oriented and that we have terrific neighbors who all watch out for each other. We also look forward every Fall to our block party.
