Looking for something to do with the kids this weekend?
Back to school has been a mixed bag around our house. How did I ever think that math magically was going to become fun?
If you need a getaway from the school madness and homework, here are a couple of adventures:
Last, last (really last) call! The beach shuttle is running through 9/28, but the water bus is ending its summer tour on 9/1. Get more info here.
The Butterfly Pavillion at the Natural History Museum is closing at the end of the month. Get more information and order tickets here.
You can still pick raspberries at Underwood Family Farms. Check out their crop calendar to see what else you can pick. Want them to pick for you? Looks like you can catch them at the Culver City Farmers’ Market on Tuesdays from 3 pm to 7 pm. We used to hit this farmers’ market after school when my daughter went to school over there. Lots of good stuff.
Fiesta La Ballona – Live music, carnival rides, games, petting zoo and pony rides. Veteran’s Park in Culver City. Friday, 8/22 to Sunday, 8/24.
Tour da Arts, Bike da City – Santa Monica Museum of Art’s 6th annual cultural bike tour. A casual 9-mile ride filled with art, music and theater. Join in at any point in the course. Sunday, 8/24, noon to 5 pm.
Coming up soon! Mark your calendars….
Tall Ships Festival – The Festival of Tall Ships is an interactive living-history encampment including blacksmiths, scrimshaw artists, and the infamous Port Royal Privateers who entertain and amaze. The festival sells out every year, so get your tickets early. Dana Point, 9/6 – 9/7. Sunset parade on 9/5.
