Ready, Set, Chalk!

Announcing our Westchester/Playa Chalk Art Contest!

Living90045.com has teamed up with The Hometown News and Westchester Arts & Music Block Party (WAM) to bring  art and cheer to our community with a chalk art contest!

The contest is open to residents of Westchester and Playa del Rey. Take a picture of your masterpiece and post it to facebook or instagram with the hashtag #westchesterchalkart.

Please also tag your sponsors – @living90045, @thehtn and @wamblockparty.

Photos can also be emailed to tracy@living90045.com or westchesterhometown@yahoo.com.

Photos should be emailed or posted no later than 5 pm on Friday, May 1st.

Our top three favorites (one in each age category) will receive a $50 gift card to a local restaurant offering takeout or delivery. Winners will also be published in The Hometown News and displayed at WAM in September.

But wait! There’s more!

We’re so super excited to announce that OTIS College of Art & Design is sponsoring a Community Favorite Grand Prize. All submitted photos will be uploaded to the sponsors’ facebook pages where the community can vote for their favorite. The artists behind the favorite (one adult and one child) will each receive a certificate for an extension class at Otis. How cool is that?

Please observe social distancing from passing neighbors as you create your work of art and other Safer At Home and Stay Home guidelines. 

We recommend chalking your driveway, personal walkway or fence to preserve your art. Posters in windows can be submitted, too. Extra consideration given for positive messages!
